Antique French woodburning stoves and fireplaces are made from cast iron, and are unsually of a very high quality manufacture. The French are extremely good at enamelling cast iron, and have produced a range of stunning stoves in beautiful colours over the years. These still look great today, and the enamel polishes up wonderfully. De Dietrich, Godin and Chappe are all great examples of French stove manufacturers over the years, and it's a sign of their quality and superb craftsmanship, that these antique woodburning stoves can still be found in working condition today.
